A Game of Mine Hoping to improve, I have come to this forum seeking wisdom. I plan to display some of my games after completion and hope for assessments. Here is the first. board #1436967 If you would like, please comment.

Hmmm... Mistake no.1 -- you ask to analyse a game you won. If you really want to improve, you should post a game you lost and where you don't understand why you did it.

Hmmmm 2 Had a quick look at it...

I think rather in that game rather your opponent lost it, also I wouldnt have given in so quickly.

I think that moving your castled rook f pawn was the key move!... you assert your control over the centre.... and here black seems doomed with his doubled d4 pawn... but note it isnt very touchable... so it isnt that bad... he doesnt really need to defend it immediately if at all!?... yet he does with seemingly pointless knight moves?... the knight comes into the game later, but so does your rook thanks to your rook pawn movement and queen exchange.

Black lost the game with the overextension of the knight moves, you won it with developing your rook.

But as Soikins suggested it is you lost games that will improve you.... it takes guts and isnt as much fun to go over a game you lost though!

Spurtus.
